What is the difference between 430, 304 and 316 stainless steel?

Grade 430 – good formability, but with reduced temperature and corrosion resistance.

Grade 304 – the most common grade of stainless steel and the classic 18/8 (18% chromium, 8% nickel) stainless steel. Good tempreture and corrosion resistance.

Grade 316 – The second most common grade stainless steel (after 304). Alloy addition of molybdenum prevents specific forms of corrosion. Also known as marine stainless steel due to its increased resistance to chloride corrosion compared to 304 stainless steel.
