Strawberries and Cream French Toast

Ingredients:

For the Whipped Cream

  • ⅔ cup heavy-cream, very cold
  • 1 tbsp. Granulated Sugar
  • ½ tsp. Vanilla Extract

For the Strawberry Sauce

  • 2 cups Strawberries, sliced
  • 1 tbsp. All-purpose Flour
  • 3 tbsp. Butter
  • ⅓ cup Granulated Sugar

For the Toast

  • 8 slices of thick-cut White Bread
  • 2 large Eggs
  • ½ cup Milk
  • ½ tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tbsp. All-purpose Flour
  • Extra Butter, for cooking

Directions:

  1. For the Whipped Cream:
    • In a medium bowl, combine the ingredients for the cream and use an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Place the whipped cream in the fridge until ready to use.
  2. For the Strawberry Sauce:
    • In a large bowl, add the strawberries and flour and toss around to coat well.
    • Place your Chef Sauce Pan over medium heat. Add the butter, coated strawberries and sugar and combine well using a silicone spoon. Once the butter is melted, reduce the heat to low and simmer for +-8 minutes while stirring occasionally until the sauce starts to darken and thicken slightly. Remove the Sauce Pan from the heat and set aside.
  3. For the French Toast:
    • In your Chef Rectangular Dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract and flour for +-5 minutes until the flour is incorporated.
    • Preheat your Chef Skillet over medium-low heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. While the butter is melting, you can proceed with next step.
    • Dip one slice of bread in the egg mixture and let it soak for a few seconds, then turn it over and repeat the dipping process. Lift the bread using a silicone/wooden spatula and allow excess to drip off before transferring to pre-heated Skillet.
    • Cook the toast for +-4 minutes before turning over and cooking another +-4 minutes or until golden brown. You can cook multiple pieces of toast at the same time if you have room in the Skillet, just be sure they aren’t touching.
    • Repeat the dipping and cooking process with the remaining pieces of bread.
  4. Layer the French toast with strawberry sauce, strawberries and a big dollop of whipped cream. You can repeat this process to make a layered French toast tower. Sever and enjoy!
