Strawberries and Cream French Toast
Ingredients:
For the Whipped Cream
- ⅔ cup heavy-cream, very cold
- 1 tbsp. Granulated Sugar
- ½ tsp. Vanilla Extract
For the Strawberry Sauce
- 2 cups Strawberries, sliced
- 1 tbsp. All-purpose Flour
- 3 tbsp. Butter
- ⅓ cup Granulated Sugar
For the Toast
- 8 slices of thick-cut White Bread
- 2 large Eggs
- ½ cup Milk
- ½ tsp. Vanilla Extract
- 1 tbsp. All-purpose Flour
- Extra Butter, for cooking
Directions:
- For the Whipped Cream:
- In a medium bowl, combine the ingredients for the cream and use an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Place the whipped cream in the fridge until ready to use.
- For the Strawberry Sauce:
- In a large bowl, add the strawberries and flour and toss around to coat well.
- Place your Chef Sauce Pan over medium heat. Add the butter, coated strawberries and sugar and combine well using a silicone spoon. Once the butter is melted, reduce the heat to low and simmer for +-8 minutes while stirring occasionally until the sauce starts to darken and thicken slightly. Remove the Sauce Pan from the heat and set aside.
- For the French Toast:
- In your Chef Rectangular Dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract and flour for +-5 minutes until the flour is incorporated.
- Preheat your Chef Skillet over medium-low heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. While the butter is melting, you can proceed with next step.
- Dip one slice of bread in the egg mixture and let it soak for a few seconds, then turn it over and repeat the dipping process. Lift the bread using a silicone/wooden spatula and allow excess to drip off before transferring to pre-heated Skillet.
- Cook the toast for +-4 minutes before turning over and cooking another +-4 minutes or until golden brown. You can cook multiple pieces of toast at the same time if you have room in the Skillet, just be sure they aren’t touching.
- Repeat the dipping and cooking process with the remaining pieces of bread.
- Layer the French toast with strawberry sauce, strawberries and a big dollop of whipped cream. You can repeat this process to make a layered French toast tower. Sever and enjoy!
