Cooking heats:
To obtain the best results for cooking your favourite dishes, which includes frying and searing, you would want to have your heat setting on medium or low heat.
Whether you’re using your Chef Wok, Chef Skillet or Chef Round Casserole, allow your casserole to heat gradually and thoroughly for even and efficient cooking results.
The only time to cook on high heat temperatures is when you want to reduce the consistency of stocks or sauces, or to boil water for vegetables or pasta.
Chef’s Tip: Overheating your cookware at high temperatures for long will cause the food to burn or stick. This will damage your cookware. Any Chef cast iron cookware that has a vitreous enamel coating retains heat efficiently and, therefore, does not need a lot of time to pre-heat.
After care:
While Chef’s enamel cookware is designed to be extremely durable, you should never place your hot cookware directly in cool water. This will cause thermal shock which has a negative impact on your cookware’s cooking abilities; if placed in cold water the cookware could result in cracking and cause a loss of enamel. Turn your stove off and leave the cookware to cool before washing.
If there are leftover food residues, fill your cookware with warm water and leave to soak for half an hour before gently washing with a cloth. To prevent damaging your enamel coating, avoid using metallic pads or harsh abrasive cleaning materials.

Proper cleaning and maintenance will help preserve the quality and longevity of your Chef Cookware.

Storing:
Always ensure your cookware is dry to the touch before storing them in your kitchen cabinet or in an airy space away from steam.
We do not recommend stacking your cookware. However, if you do not have ample space in your kitchen, place a thick sheet of paper towels between each piece of cookware, to prevent them from scratching one another.
